If your child is unwell or absent for any other reason, please contact the school at the earliest opportunity (before 9.30am) by telephoning the School Office. You are welcome to leave a message on our answer phone either before or during office opening hours.
Please state your child’s name, year group and the nature of the illness/absence. It is a statutory requirement for the school to enter a reason for absence in the Attendance Registers. If we have not heard from you by 9.30am, we will telephone in order to find out the nature of the absence. If we are not able to contact you, your child’s absence will be entered in the attendance register as ‘unauthorised’.
Pupils, staff and other adults should follow public health advice on when to self-isolate and what to do. They should not come into school if they have symptoms, have had a positive test result or other reasons requiring them to stay at home due to the risk of them passing on COVID-19 (for example, they are required to quarantine or they are a close contact of a suspected or confirmed case of the Omicron variant of COVID-19).
The school operates a policy of no authorised leave for family holidays during term time. Unauthorised absence over five days will be referred to Suffolk County Council and may result in a fine.
