PE & Sports Premium

The government is providing additional funding of £150 million per annum for the next three academic years to improve the provision of Physical Education (PE) and sport in primary schools.

This funding has been jointly provided by the Departments for Education; Health; and Culture, Media and Sport. It is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.

PE and Sport allows our children to:

  • Be Reflective - each PE unit builds on prior knowledge encouraging the children to reflect on their previous learning and ensure progression.
  • Be Resilience - children are challenged to complete different levels of activities that involve developing their skills in a given area of PE.
  • Risk Taking – children take the risk to perform the skills that they have learnt. They are also encouraged to take part in sports which they may not feel as confident or familiar with and are encouraged to take a risk in these lessons.
